LOUIS VUITTON HONG KONG LANDMARK
CENTRAL HONG KONG
is located in the middle of the Hong Kong island and we were in charge of designing its facade. The main structure of the design is a longitudinal louver. Each blade of the louver bears an zigzag edge from which two types of design is created; a large zigzag and a small zigzag. The material is an aluminum of 9mm thickness with 44mm distance between each centers. By finishing the face of the blade and headers individually, we have created four different types of design. The combination is 1)side=mirror surface, header=white 2)side=white, header=mirror surface 3)side=hairline, header=white 4)side=white, header=white. Viewing the facade from a certain angle, the Damier pattern(a pattern of Louis Vuitton) will appear and vanish due to the alignment and combination of these blades.
