LOUIS VUITTON FUKUOKA TENJIN

FUKUOKA, JAPAN

COMMERCIAL

is a part of interior and an exterior design for Louis Vuitton Fukuoka Tenjin, whose 22.5m x 13.5m x H8.7m site is located at the corner in Fukuoka’s Tenjin district. Reffering to Louis Vuitton Hong Kong Landmark, it lays out aluminum louvers behind the transparent glass walls to disperse small particles of light around with irregular edges of the louvers. However, Hong Kong Landmarks keeps straight lines of edges when zigzagging in order to arouse the intensity of Hong Kong’s particular climate, tropical squalls, whereas Fukuoka Tenjin’s exterior louvers create a sequence of arcs which actualizes soft, sensitive ray of light similar to the one which reflects on calm riffles of Hakata Bay. The pattern seen in the louvers revolves into marble and stainless wall design for the niches at the entrance and interior staircase.
