MIDSUMMER PLANTS

TOKYO, JAPAN

EXHIBITION

is an Installation / Art Exhibition of Jun Aoki presented at the “Taro Nasu” Gallery where Jun Aoki has created the interior. The purpose was to unveil the perception of this space defined by Aoki. The gallery is a 48 year-old-building in downtown Tokyo, consisting of a ground floor and a basement. The exhibition space is created in the latter. Entering the gallery evokes an ambience of crawling deep inside the ruffles of Tokyo, hinting that a fierce anima exists in this damp darkness, resembling the bustle of Tokyo outside. The basis of this exhibition is formed from three dimensional rings applied at the “White Chapel”, and a couple of imaginary plants evolved from this structure are grouped and arranged.
