Artist Talk by Hiroshi Sugito and Jun Aoki will be held in Singapore.
In Spring 2011, Jun Aoki worked with Hiroshi Sugito on a collaboration planned for installation in the Aomori Museum of Art. Aoki will talk about the Japanese concept of "ba"(place/shared space/ context), examining the relationship art and location from the perspective of the artist and from the perspective of the architect. This event will be held as a part of"Hiroshi Sugito: Paintings and Sketches" Arts Exhibition. The exhibition will also include several study models by Jun Aoki, which inspired Mr.Sugito, the way of looking at a house.

Jun Aoki designed the exhibition space of"as it should be" RITSUE MISHIMA.
The solo exhibition of Venice-based glass artist Ritsue Mishima started from 12th April 2011 atShiseido Gallery. Aoki embodied Mishima's image of "a sacred entrance path to some world deep below". (2011.04.12)
AOKI JUN x SUGITO HIROSHI Happa and Harappa Exhibitionhas officially been cancelled.
For one year, we have been preparing for this exhibition with Hiroshi SUGITO.
Great East Japan Earthquake occurred just before the set up of this exhibition and due to the current logistic situation and difficulty in collecting the construction materials, the exhibition has been officially cancelled.
We would like to apologize to all of those who were looking forward to this exhibition as well as many collaborators who has supported us, for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation.

"The Living Museum"Workshop will be held by Jun Aoki and Hiroshi Sugito on October 10th.
The theme of the workshop is to think about "If one more thing is to be added to the Aomori Museum of Art, what should it be?". The program includes a visit to the architecture by Kunio Maekawa in Hirosaki city. (2010.09.10)

Celebrating the 5th year since its opening in 2006, the Aomori Museum of Art will hold this exhibition as a part of a commemorative exhibition.
In collaboration with Hiroshi Sugito, Jun Aoki will create an unique exhibition which can only be realized at the Aomori Museum of Art. The entire building, including the backstage which is normally non-accessible during ordinary exhibitions is used.
On December 4th, 2010, the Tohoku Shinkansen Line will extend to Shin-Aomori station, where the Aomori Museum of Art is located close by. The new service will notably increase the accessibility to and from Tokyo and the Museum.
